Perks
Perks
Perks are attributes attached to both weapons and armor, these attributes can provide many utilities and additional abilities to loot, resulting in wildly different playstyles for the same weapon.
Perks are located around the middle of an item, below the items stats, but above its description, and item designation.
Perks are split up into 8 types:
| Standard | Traditional perks, items can only get certain Standard perks, but are unrestricted as to where they can drop otherwise. |
| Element | Perks related to a weapons Element, can only drop on weapons that share said Element. |
| Origin | Perks related to a weapons source, Origin perks will always drop on weapons |
| Adept | Perks that can appear on extremely rare Adept versions of weapons. |
| Unique | Perks that are exclusive to specific weapons (Recipe, Quest, etc), usually modifications of previous perks. |
| Exotic | The special ability of an Exotic item. |
| Armor Charge | An Armor perk that provides Armor charge when activated, used in buildcrafting. |
| Armor Charge Consumer | An Armor perk that consumes Armor charge to activate effects, used in build crafting. |
The number of perks on a weapon is also dependent on its rarity and its source, certain weapons may come with more or fewer perks than the average item of that rarity:
| Weapon Rarity/Source | Amount of Perks | Perk type |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 0 | N/A |
| Uncommon | 0–1 | Standard |
| Rare | 1 | Standard |
| Legendary | 2 | Standard |
| Exotic | 0–2 | Exotic + Standard |
| Playlist Legendaries | 3–4 | Standard + Origin |
| Unique/Quest Weapon | 0–3 | Unique + Standard |

Adding content:
- If you are unsure of what to do or how to create a page, search for a few articles on the same topic and see what they look like. You can always view the source code in a wiki and learn from what others have done.
- An edit doesn't have to be massive; if you feel you don't want to create whole articles, then just fixing spelling errors and broken links is enough.
